WA
Hi there, I'm Brenda! My name is Brenda Alexander-O’Neil and I am a PMHNP-BC. I have experience in a variety of clinical settings, including psychiatric inpatient units, outpatient units, psychiatric emergency rooms, and community mental health. In those settings, I have fulfilled multiple clinical roles and worked at internationally recognized institutions such as The Cleveland Clinic and Case Medical Center. I have also worked as a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) across the United States in both rural and urban settings since 2016. My approach My approach to mental health care is listening. The client is the most important person on the care team, and if they are not heard nothing can be accomplished. My focus I have worked with various individuals who suffer from issues such as Addiction, Substance abuse, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, PTSD, and Trauma. My communication style My communication is open, honest, and imperative for all parties involved. My journey to mental healthcare I have been attracted to psychiatry and mental health since early adulthood. It was around this time that I began to realize family members and friends were suffering from conditions such as depression and anxiety. Witnessing the anguish of attempting to cope on their own ignited in me a resolve to help people with mental health issues. These experiences were the impetus for furthering my education as a PMHNP-BC. Helping people overcome mental illness is gratifying and among the most rewarding of experiences. My goals for you What goals are important to the patient? My first session with you We will spend time getting to know each other. They can expect a non-judgmental empathetic provider.
