Brian J. McGinley, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained sports medicine, hip, and knee reconstruction specialist. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Columbia University and completed his internship in General Surgery and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Saint Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center. Dr. McGinley then pursued a fellowship in Knee Reconstruction and Sports Medicine at the Insall Scott Kelly Orthopaedic Institute in New York City. For more than 20 years, Dr. McGinley has provided orthopedic care to thousands of patients in Suffolk County. He lectures nationally and internationally on computer-assisted and robotic-assisted total knee replacement surgery. Since 2002, he has been at the forefront of developing computer navigation in total knee replacement surgery and holds a U.S. patent for a precision cutting instrument used in these procedures. Dr. McGinley performed the world's first robotically assisted total knee replacement using the Navio System. He has served as assistant team physician for the New York Knicks, team physician for the Long Island Lizards lacrosse team, and US Open Golf Player's Physician at Bethpage Black in 2002. Additionally, he has been an orthopedic consultant to local colleges and high schools in Suffolk County. Dr. McGinley joined Orlin & Cohen in 2019 following its acquisition of Long Island Bone & Joint in Port Jefferson, NY, where he was a partner.
