Bryan Makowski, MD, is a board eligible psychiatrist with a psychologically minded perspective. Dr. Makowski studied at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics and Masters of Science in Biochemistry and Biophysics. He then spent three years working as a nurse’s aide in upstate New York before enrolling at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, where he earned his medical degree. After graduation, Dr. Makowski completed a psychiatry residency at the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker School of Medicine Psychiatry Program. While in residency he was trained in all aspects of mental health care, including, but not limited to, the diagnosis and treatment of anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. During his residency he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the National Medical Honor Society, served as the Psychiatry Program’s Academic Chief Resident and was awarded the American Psychiatric Association Resident Recognition Award for 2026.
