Dr. Halverstam is also well trained in the treatment of specific dermatological diseases including difficult cases in psoriasis, blistering diseases and auto-immune diseases. In addition to her medical dermatology practice, she has conducted clinical research in psoriasis and has published multiple articles including “Practical Management and Monitoring of Psoriasis Patients on Biologic Therapy” in Psoriasis Forum and “Non-Standard and Off-Label Therapies for Psoriasis” in Clinical Dermatology. She also wrote “Lack of Significant Skeletal Changes After Long-term, Low-dose Retinoid Therapy: A Case Report and Review of the Literature” in the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery. At Montefiore, Dr. Halverstam works with patients of all ages. She is part of a multidisciplinary team of doctors, which includes patients’ primary care physicians and other specialists in a faculty practice at multiple locations. She also teaches residents in dermatology one day a week at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital.
