I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health NP. I graduated from Indiana University School of Nursing in 2015 and received a master’s degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2022. I use the Provider-patient relationship approach, emphasizing the Importance of communication and interaction in achieving patient well-being. I use the four stages of Interpersonal relationships: Orientation: Establishing a relationship with the patient. Identification: Patient identifies with the provider and develops trust, allowing deeper exploration of patient's issues. Exploitation: Patients actively participate in the care plan, and providers help to meet their needs towards their care plan. Resolutions: The relationship concludes as the patient's needs are met, and they can manage their health independently. I typically work with adult patients and children age 12 and above struggling with Major Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar 1 and 11 disorders, schizophrenia, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, Personality disorders, Behavioral issues in young Children, Dementia, Addiction due to substance use, and many more. I create a safe patient environment through careful listening, compassion, and empathy. My approach is to provide calm and reassurance and to prioritize building a trust relationship with patients and ensuring that my patients feel heard. I was raised in a community that had a stigma on Mental health patients. This was due to a lack of education that mental health is a disease. I had relatives and friends who were struggling with mental health challenges but had no access to care, had difficulty navigating the system, and had no support from the community. After careful observation of what mental health patients were going through, I was intrigued to go back to school to train as a mental health provider to help this special group.
