What should a new client know about working with you?

I want my patients to feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their treatment. During our visits, I take time to understand not only your symptoms, but also how they are affecting your daily life, relationships, work, school, and overall well-being. We will discuss treatment options together, including the potential benefits and risks of medications, so that you can make informed decisions about your care. My goal is to provide thoughtful, individualized treatment rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During your initial psychiatric evaluation, I review your current symptoms, psychiatric and medical history, medications, previous treatment experiences, family history, and treatment goals. We then discuss my clinical impressions and appropriate treatment options. If medication is recommended, I explain the purpose of the medication, expected benefits, potential side effects, and what we will monitor. Follow-up visits focus on evaluating your response to treatment, addressing side effects or new concerns, and making adjustments when appropriate. I also encourage coordination with therapists and other healthcare providers when it can improve continuity of care.
