Getting to know Dr. Chantal Van Wely
As a psychiatrist (MD), I diagnose and treat individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, and psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia. I have a special interest in reproductive psychiatry, perinatal psychiatry, and maternal mental health.
I strive to bring compassion, warmth, insight, and professionalism to every patient interaction. My approach centers around empathy and active listening. I utilize the bio-psycho-social model and consider all parts of a person's life (medical history, family history, lifestyle, goals, and values) when developing an individualized treatment plan. My goal is to build strong relationships so I can support my patients in long-term improvement.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I provide evidence-based psychiatric evaluation and medication management via telehealth. Please note: our practice does not prescribe controlled medications, including stimulant medications for ADHD (e.g., Adderall, Vyvanse) or benzodiazepines (e.g., Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin). If you are seeking these medications, I may not be the right fit. I focus on thoughtful, individualized care and long-term symptom improvement.
