Dr. Charles Camisa is a graduate of Cornell University and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Case Western Reserve University and a residency in Dermatology at New York University. He was an associate professor of Medicine at Ohio State University. From 1987 to 2006, Dr. Camisa was a staff dermatologist at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He served as the Director of the Dermatology Residency Program from 1989 to 2006 and as Vice Chairman of the Department of Dermatology from 1990 to 2006. From 2004 to 2019, Dr. Camisa was recognized as one of "America's Top Doctors" by Castle Connolly. In 2005, he was voted Dermatology Practitioner of the Year by the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. Throughout his career, Dr. Camisa has contributed immensely to the field of dermatology. He is the author of over 140 peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters on skin and oral diseases and is the founder of "Camisa Disease," a rare genetic variant of Vohwinkel's syndrome.
