Family Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
CO
Hello from Colorado Springs! My name is Cheryl Spice. I have been in the mental health field since 1999. I am a licensed and Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I specialize in holistic mental health services. What does that mean for you? It means that I do medication management with counseling. We will work together to identify your needs and build a treatment plan that aligns with your goals. My approach My Approach: I use Multimodal therapy in combination with evidenced based medication practices. Multimodal Therapy (MMT) is driven by the needs of the patient. Human challenges are complex- they often involve biological, mental, and social aspects that cannot be adequately addressed with medication or therapy alone. MMT combines evidenced based therapies such as CBT, DBT, and mindfulness to create an individual therapeutic experience. My focus I work with patients experiencing a variety of life challenges from depression and anxiety to more complex disorders such as Bipolar Disorder. My communication style My communication style is open and collaborative. I encourage patients to be an active participant in the treatment planning and therapeutic process. My journey to mental healthcare From the time I was in high school I knew I wanted to be in healthcare. I was fascinated by the human body, psychology, and the power of relationships. It is such an incredible honor to share in the healing journey of a fellow human being. Keeping the human body alive and functioning does not automatically provide a life worth living. Helping people travel from surviving to thriving is the true goal. I look forward to partnering with you in your journey to creating a healthier, more satisfying life! My goals for you As part of the goal setting process, I share my assessment results, recommendations, and options for treatment. The patient is empowered to actively participate in treatment planning. My first session with you.
