About Dr. Christopher Hollowell
South Florida welcomes Dr. Hollowell back after practicing for ten years in Detroit, Michigan. Originally from the Motor City, he received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Wayne State University, earning his Doctor of Medicine there. He came to South Florida in 1993 to attend his surgical internship and residency in urologic surgery at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospitals. After completing his residency, he moved to Detroit to join his father’s practice. “My father has taught me many things, most notably that a sound knowledge base combined with compassion can make a profound difference in the lives of patients.” The family legacy in urology extends to his brother, who is also a urologist practicing in Chicago. Dr. Hollowell was awarded clinical assistant professorships in both urology and gynecology with Wayne State and Michigan State Universities.
His clinical focus is in female urology, male and female voiding dysfunction, and minimally invasive surgeries. He specializes in complex pelvic floor reconstruction, deploying the latest minimally invasive techniques and robotic technologies. His enthusiasm for teaching and proficiency in surgery have earned him top honors from his residents, colleagues, and patients. Dr. Hollowell is board certified and a diplomate of the American Board of Urology. He is a member of the American Urologic Association, the Society for Urodynamics and Female Urology, North Central Urologic Section, Michigan State Medical Society, Michigan Urologic Society, Association of Clinical Urologists, and Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.
Over the years, Dr. Hollowell has written numerous articles and books and has appeared on radio and television. He has given several national, statewide, and local lectures and has served on many hospital and civic committees in an effort to advance patient care and community health.

Was not seen by the doctor. Was not contacted after my visit after I made it clear to them of my concern. Called them and expressed my concerns. Whoever answered the phone said she will make it priority and I would get a call only after I told her I am going to switch doctors. Still never got the call.

I would not see Dr. Hollowell again. He was quite arrogant and condescending when I was describing my condition/issue I am facing. As if it was an inconvenience to see me as a patient. Not very pleasant or kind. 0/10. With the exception of Dr. Tyler, the doctors I’ve seen in this location including Dr. Zahalsky act like they are know it alls. Yes I understand they are specialists, but I didn’t know that meant they can be rude as well!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Hollowell and associates for around a year, and he’s always been very pleasant and clear about procedures. He’s also very attentive and works to get to the root of the issue, rather than have you jump through hoops for things you don’t really need. The staff is always very friendly and the Pompano & Coral Springs locations are very pleasant.

PROS:Excellent service from the Doctor, very professional, took the time to explain issues and recommendations for my 2 month old. Definitely will keep coming back to see Dr. Hollowell.
CONS: Took over an hour to get called in to see the doctor even though my sons appointment was @11:15am. Never took the time to explain that it will be more than an hour. The front desk put me on hold for over 10 mins when calling before the appointment. Its hard to get someone on the phone.
