About Dr. Christopher Hughes
INITIAL VISIT 100 DOLLARS. HSA and FSA cards accepted. Dr Hughes is an Internal Medicine physician, practice name is DirectMD. This is a Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice model. He does not bill insurance for his services. This is also a telemedicine based primary care service, a type of practice known as Virtual Primary Care (VPC).
Cash pay -
Option 1 - Dr. Hughes can see you as a one time visit for any acute issue for a 1st time fee of 100$ (100$ if no-show; 50$ cancel fee). Follow up visits are 70$ thereafter.
Option 2 - Dr Hughes can manage chronic medical illness over time (a few examples would be things like diabetes type 1 or 2, hypertension, high cholesterol, gout, asthma, allergies, arthritis, thyroid, testosterone, erectile dysfunction, hair loss medication management, HRT, birth control, anxiety/depression, etc) and this will require signing up for the membership, cost of 70 dollars per month (a subscription DPC model), as a recurring monthly payment via autopay every 30 days. Any prescription requiring ongoing management and refills would necessitate signing up for the membership. For this he will see you on a regular ongoing follow up basis as indicated for your chronic medical care, managing all refills, referrals, testing, etc. But of course you can schedule an appointment to see him any time, unlimited visits, for any acute issues or questions, with unlimited direct access to Dr Hughes' email for direct messaging (email response time from Dr Hughes and not an intermediary of no more than 3 hours on weekdays, no more than 48 hours weekends). All pharmacy issues are handled/resolved the same day, all prescription refills handled promptly and efficiently. Directly emailing Dr Hughes speeds up issue resolution immensely, incredibly quicker than most insurance-based primary care practice models. Only additional cost would be for GLP-1 weight loss meds.

I received primary care from Doctor Hughes’ practice, DirectMD, for the past few years, and it was fantastic! In a digital age, Dr. Hughes has the foresight to meet people where they are, and offers primary care at an extremely affordable monthly rate. I never had a single issue with appointments or medication refills, despite my very frequent business travel . I only wish his practice was licensed in Colorado where I’ve recently moved. So long Dr. Hughes, wishing you all the best! 11/10 recommend, you won’t find better care!

I’ve used Dr Hughes as my primary doctor for several years. I have always had an Excellent experience. He gets to any of my medical requests immediately. He and his team send out prescriptions quickly and even on weekends if I am sick he sees me.

Dr. Hughes is a life saver. I couldn’t get in to see my primary care provider (PA) nor could I even get a message to her when I was in horrific pain and thought I was having a heart attack. I reached out to Dr. Hughes and he immediately (within half hour) saw me and correctly diagnosed me with shingles. He started treatment immediately which certainly shortened it’s course. And .. My primary care’s nurse got back to me five days later suggesting I go to the ER!! I’ll stick with Dr. Hughes. He is smart, kind, accessible, affordable, and caring - you know- like Dr’s were in the 1980’s. He’s the best!

Dr. Hughes is great! I have been seeing him for the past year medically for my continued Healthcare and I haven't felt this great since could recall. As a man I put my health issues to the side for years but since knowing Dr. Hughes personally for over 7 years I decided to entrust him with my health and can't thank him enough. Dr. Hughes is super friendly and the most efficient doctor I’ve had. I went from constantly trying to find new a new PCP due to nationwide shortages of PCPs, and then waiting 6-8 months before I could even get an appointment… to Dr. Hughes who responds to all concerns and emails usually within the same day. I appreciate the convenience of being able to go to any Quest Diagnostics location to get my blood work/labs done, and the results are usually posted the next day too!

What sets Dr. Hughes apart is how genuinely he listens - he never rushes through appointments and always makes sure he understands your concerns completely before moving forward.
His bedside manner is exceptional. He takes the time to explain things clearly, answers all my questions without making me feel like I'm being a bother, and shows real compassion when dealing with health issues. You can tell he truly cares about his patients' wellbeing, not just checking boxes.
Scheduling appointments is refreshingly easy - his office staff is helpful and accommodating, and I've never had trouble getting an appointment when needed. Dr.Hughes is one of a kind!

Anytime I have needed an appointment or to speak with him, I get immediate assistance. Seeking medical care can be difficult these days.
