Dr. Chun Wai (Eugene) Hung has a unique scientific and medical background. He earned engineering degrees from The Cooper Union and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and is a licensed professional engineer, which has helped shape his analytical approach to medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his Residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, receiving the Hugh S. Tullos Research Award and the Professional Educator Appreciation and Recognition Award. He went on to complete a Fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Spinal Surgery with globally renowned leaders at Columbia University Medical Center–New York Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Hung is well versed in all manners of spine pathology, including fractures and oncologic spine disease. He specializes in degenerative conditions of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, including spinal stenosis, myelopathy, radiculopathy, arthritis, and disc herniations. He has a particular interest in spine deformity, including correction of scoliosis, kyphosis, and sagittal malalignment. He firmly believes in the value of exhausting all conservative care prior to invasive surgical procedures. As the author of numerous peer-reviewed articles in orthopedics and spine surgery, he has presented his research at a myriad of national and international conferences."

Dr. Hung took time to ask questions and to explain the x-ray results using the model of the spine. He explained the options and even included me on the decision of which medication that I'd like to try until we're able to get MRI results.
