“Being on Medicaid was never an issue before the pandemic. Unfortunately post pandemic a lot of providers stopped accepting Medicaid and the quality of care has gone down with places that do. This was NOT the case with Dr. Mcwhirter and The Rocky Vista Health Clinic. I finally found somewhere/someone that treated me as an equal. They gave the care that I have so desperately needed and restored my confidence back into the system. I was able to input all personal and medical information through the website which avoided conflict in office. The office staff is on top of everything and so kind! I waited less than 5min to be brought back and it was so pleasant to have everyone on the same page. I was listened to and heard! Finally! All of my concerns were taken seriously and a plan was put into place for future treatment and appointments. I look forward to my next appointment. ”

About Dr. Cody McWhirter

I was born in Long Beach, California, in 1991 and grew up in a town named Los Alamitos in Orange County, California. Growing up, I played many sports, namely ice hockey, lacrosse, and more leisurely golf. Following high school, I attended Michigan State University for a year and completed my undergraduate education at the University of Vermont, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2013. I then attended medical school at the University of South Florida from 2017 to 2021, earning my Doctor of Medicine degree.
After college, I moved back to the Detroit area, where I worked as an EMT and a medic in the ER at a Detroit-area trauma center. Aside from the professional aspect, I still enjoy playing ice hockey and golf; I love the outdoors—hiking, backpacking, snowboarding, and more. I am a big fan of hockey, soccer, and Formula One racing. I like to maintain a wide array of social, physical, and mental interests and hobbies, and I consider myself well-traveled, having been to 49 of the 50 U.S. states and several other countries—Thailand and Vietnam being among my favorites.
