“Dr. Jackson was great during our first appointment together! It's too early to tell whether we will be a long-term fit, but so far so good. She's knowledgeable, understanding, and very focused when listening. She had no distractions and kept me focused, as well. She was very clear about expectations and about her style. Excellent experience, will definitely be scheduling regular sessions with her.”

Getting to know Dr. Colleen Jackson

I am a clinical psychologist with board certification in clinical neuropsychology. I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Connecticut and completed my internship at Brown University’s Rhode Island Hospital, followed by a fellowship at the Veterans Affairs Boston Healthcare System. I offer both psychotherapy and neuropsychological assessment. Psychotherapy: I specialize in working with adult clients (18+) facing challenges related to ADHD, aging, caregiving, and adjustment to medical or neurological diagnoses. I also have extensive experience supporting clients with depression, anxiety/worry, and general life difficulties. I work collaboratively with clients to identify treatment goals and use my expertise in the relationships between the brain, cognitive abilities, and behavior to help clients develop insight and skills to function at their best. I use cognitive and behavioral therapeutic techniques supported by research; therapy is always tailored to the individual needs, strengths, and values of each client. Individual therapy sessions last 50 minutes and typically occur weekly or every other week. Treatment duration varies by each client’s unique circumstances and goals. Neuropsychological Assessment: I provide neuropsychological assessments for adults (18+) focused on optimizing how clients think and function in academic, occupational, and personal settings. I have expertise in assessing ADHD, learning disorders, and cognitive changes that can occur later in life. Appointments typically last four hours and include a clinical interview and neuropsychological testing using paper-and-pencil and computerized measures. A one-hour feedback appointment is scheduled about 1–2 weeks after the initial session. In-person testing is currently offered at my Brookline, MA office. A telephone consultation is required before the initial appointment, after which a detailed estimate will be provided. I am an out-of-network provider.
