He also treats conditions including Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Bipolar Disorder, and Binge Eating Disorder. ​His treatment approach is grounded in a three-pronged model that integrates medication management, psychotherapy, and lifestyle interventions. He primarily utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with an emphasis on values-based work and mindfulness. His therapeutic approach also incorporates elements of Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), particularly in supporting healthy changes in sleep, diet, exercise, and relationships.​ Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Hegewald is an avid yoga practitioner and certified yoga instructor. He enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and skiing, reading, and connecting with family and friends.
