My journey to mental healthcare The importance of mental health for me came as a result of mental illness in my family. This arose from significant trauma for people before me and its impact throughout my family. I have seen significant amounts of this in community as well. I also had a friend develop mental illness and lack of awareness with her support system prevented loved ones from being proactive to help where is would have been possible. My goals for you I set goals with patient concerns in mind. I also consider patient's most distressing issues to address these concerns first. My first session with you Our first session will entail a thorough evaluation to understand patient's life experience up to this point. I obtain extensive history in order to have a clear understanding of their full experience and how this can impact mental health challenges. We will develop an initial plan from this initial session.
