Danica Trinidad, NP

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
CA
Hi, I'm Danica Trinidad, MSN, PMHNP-BC — a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner treating adults with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, panic, trauma and PTSD, and substance use disorders. Before psychiatry I worked in critical care and inpatient settings, which is where I learned how often a mental health symptom has a medical driver worth ruling out first. Good psychiatric care starts with listening — with time to hear the history, not just the complaint. My first visit is a full sixty minutes and covers your history, your current concerns, and what you want to be different. You leave with a plan we built together: medication where it helps, therapy where it helps, and a clear reason for each. You see me at every appointment after that. Follow-ups track what's working against the same measures each time, catch side effects early, and adjust. You will not be rushed, and you will not be handed a prescription you don't understand.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect a collaborative, thoughtful, and personalized experience. I take the time to understand not only your symptoms but also your life experiences, strengths, and goals before recommending a treatment plan. Whether you're seeking psychiatric care for the first time or returning after time away, I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and participating in every treatment decision. My goal is to help you build long-term emotional wellness through care that is compassionate, practical, and grounded in evidence-based medicine.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first appointment focuses on getting to know you. We'll discuss your current concerns, medical and mental health history, lifestyle, and what you hope to achieve through treatment. Together, we'll develop a personalized care plan that may include medication management, psychotherapy, education, and healthy lifestyle strategies. Follow-up visits are designed to monitor your progress, evaluate how treatment is working, address any concerns or side effects, and make adjustments as needed. I believe mental health care works best when it is collaborative, consistent, and responsive to your changing needs.
