He earned a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology from Ohio University, graduating cum laude, and a master's degree in physician assistant studies from Ohio Dominican University, where he also served as cohort president.
Daniel has experience working with children as a camp counselor at the Muscular Dystrophy Association Camp and as a Big Brother for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio. I enjoy having my visits with Daniel, we have very similar mannerisms which I believe is a good quality to have within a doctor-patient relationship. My time spent working with Daniel Burkehart has been nothing short of a pleasure and a privilege. From the very first appointment, Dan was very friendly and courteous. Also within the first encounter, Dan had an action plan already figured out to help me with getting off of medications that were causing me long-term harm.
Dan's timeliness has always been top notch, with a wait of no more than 4-5 minutes before our sessions began. He really took the time to get to know me and the situation that I was in before I saw him. As for the action plan itself, it has been leaps and bounds above anything I've ever attempted before, with my mood becoming more stabilized over the course of treatment, instead of having to cope with strong, pendulous swings back-and-forth.
If given the opportunity to recommend Dan to a friend, family member, or colleague, my answer would be a strong "YES!"
Overall 10/10 stars, and a true professional. Thank you for everything!

Daniel has been amazing! He always listens to me and makes sure I feel comfortable with what we've decided on. He always sweet and is genuine and willing to talk me through any of my worries or concerns. Daniel makes me feel heard and that means so much to me as a patient. 100% recommend!

Often times, it can seem overwhelming to talk to a psychiatrist. The power dynamics are a real thing when you are talking to someone that has control over your medications. Daniel has made the relationship feel like a collaborative approach where I still have autonomy and choice. He ensures I have a good understanding of why he made the choices he made and opens up room to discuss my thoughts and feelings about the treatment plan. I’ve never felt rushed during any appointment and always have ample time to ask questions. I would highly recommend.

Daniel Burkhart is wonderful. Unfortunately, I had seen multiple providers before setting up care with Daniel. He is by far the best. Daniel is personable and seems to genuinely care. During this visit he did a great job of validating how I was feeling and helping to solidify treatment moving forward. I feel confident in the care he has provided.

I started seeing Daniel this year and as someone who is really apprehensive about new providers, he has been nothing short of absolutely fantastic. He's always kind, always listens to concerns, and is very helpful in making sure he understands what I'm experiencing, and offering guidance on various issues. He asks thoughtful questions and genuinely cares about his patients. He makes sure that every patient feels comfortable to reach out if they have any questions and you can tell he means it. Daniel Burkhardt really cares about my mental and physical health and how I am doing continuing on in my treatment. The staff are very friendly as well when I have to call in for any questions. Daniel is an excellent provider! He remembers and asks about the things happening in my life, changes, etc. He always leaves the door open for me to ask and address any concerns I may have that weren’t covered, and he keeps my other conditions and treatments in mind while making decisions about what he’ll suggest and clearly lays out the pros and cons of any choice, the reasoning behind his recommendations, and reaffirms and accommodates my comfort levels with any plan.

I had such an amazing experience with him! For never talking about what led me to them he made me feel comfortable and heard and never pressured me into talking about something I wasn't comfortable with. I would highly recommend giving him a chance to help you with whatever you may need. You never know it may be a life-changing experience.
