“I come from the generation that doesn't talk about mental health so when I come here to write a review publicly I hope that means something to the review-readers like myself. I've been a nurse for 17 years and I've fought anxiety and tricky medical conditions my whole life. When I work with this doctor it feels like we're a team sitting down at the table, both on the same side and same team trying to work together to make me better. It's so refreshing. Dr. Fish knows the new tricks with meds, he's a very clever doctor and his way works if you try it. I'm really grateful for this doctor because I was having a very hard time before I came to him for help.”

Getting to know Dr. Daniel Fish

Daniel L. Fish, MD Daniel L. Fish is a Psychiatrist in North Carolina who has been practicing since 2020. He earned degrees at North Carolina State University and Virginia Tech Carilion Medical School, and completed his Psychiatry Residency at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Daniel considers himself a down-to-earth and personable Psychiatrist with a combination of life experience and excellent training. He specializes in discerning the impact of how life situations, medical conditions, and biochemical brain imbalances can commonly manifest psychiatrically in conditions such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and sleep disturbance. Daniel believes strongly in the mind-body connection and the impact of skills that can be learned through different modalities of therapy. Daniel is trained in pharmacotherapeutic management of psychiatric conditions and also utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy in his standard practice depending on the psychiatric presentation. Outside of work, Daniel enjoys fishing, hunting, gardening, cooking, canning/pickling and sustainable living, and taking care of his chickens and golden retriever, Bodie. In my course of practice I do not complete paperwork for FMLA, disability, or other accommodations outside of an already established medication management or therapy alliance. I do not offer forensic or competency evaluations in any capacity including, but not limited to, employment, citizenship, or legal proceedings.
