He completed his Psychiatric Residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and served in South Korea and with the 82nd Airborne Division. He holds board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and maintains an active medical licenses in North Carolina. He has worked in various inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, including home visits with Assertive Community Treatment Teams. He has worked with numerous organizations including UNC Rex, FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Strategic Interventions, Easterseals PORT Health, Carolina Outreach and Agape Health Services. His clinical philosophy centers on meeting each patient where they are, combining rigorous pharmacological management with a holistic understanding of the biological, psychological, and social factors that influence mental health outcomes.
