They contacted me prior to the visit to get all of the insurance documentation- this saved a lot of time and was indicative of an organized office. The exam was very thorough and will leave you with a high degree of confidence that your vision is well taken care of. They also have a healthy selection of frames to choose from if you need glasses. Overall, I had a very satisfying visit.”

About Dr. Daniel Mirkin

Dr. Daniel Mirkin has been practicing Optometry at Mirkin Vision since 1986. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York. Dr. Mirkin has been associated with the University Optometric Center of NY and is an affiliate of TLC Laser in Garden City.
He was one of the first Optometrists in the United States to receive Board Certification from the American Board of Optometry in 2014 and is currently a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. In addition to providing thorough vision and eye health examinations using the latest technology, Dr. Mirkin fits specialty contact lenses and treats eye infections, glaucoma, and dry eye. He is licensed to treat eye diseases with therapeutic pharmaceuticals, including ophthalmic antibiotics, antiviral and steroid drops, glaucoma, and allergy eye medications.
Dr. Mirkin is a member of the American Optometric Association, New York State Optometric Association, and the Nassau County Optometric Society. His philosophy for patient care is to "give you great vision now and protect your vision for the future."

Today my husband and I visited Mirkin Vision for the first time. I have to say, we were blown away by Dr. Mirkin's bedside manner as well as the courteousness and professionalism of his entire staff. We planned to just have an eye exam and order our prescribed glasses; however, after a consultation with a friendly and knowledgeable team member on the floor, we both gladly ordered a pair of prescription shades as well! We're excited about our new glasses and moreover our newfound vision care experts and look forward to becoming loyal clients/customers.

Been coming here for a few years now and every time have a great experience. Staff is friendly and helpful. The doctor is great and helped me find the perfect contacts and solved an issue so I no longer need to use my reading glasses. The visit was very thorough.
The Doctor and staff were very nice.
I needed new glasses. They helped me pick out new frames and went over the different options that were available for the lenses. It was explained clearly how each option worked and how much.
I was able to pick up my glasses in a week.
The only problem I had, was that they do not have a ramp, as I use a rollator (walker) to walk. I was helped to get up the few stairs that they had.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this office, and plan on going back for my next eye exam.

I always have a pleasant visit when I have appointments at Mirkin Vision Care. Someone from rhe office always calls the day before the appointment to confirm/ as a reminder. The staff members are welcoming, helpful, professional, and friendly. Wait time is usually only a few minutes. Dr. Mirkin is always great!
