“I have been seeing Dr. Pearlman for 2 years, he has always listened to any concerns I may have about my treatment as opposed to others. This helped me make the decision to follow him to his private practice. Dr. Pearlman’s approach to his clients needs feels beyond any other psychiatrist I have seen in the past. He actually makes me want to continue my treatment due being able to have a voice instead of being strong armed into a regimen that may not work. I highly recommend him to others looking to find a psychiatrist that will treat you like an individual and not just another number.”

Getting to know Dr. Daniel Pearlman

Daniel M. Pearlman, MD, MPH is a psychiatrist providing thoughtful, outpatient care. His practice focuses on diagnostic clarity, expert medication management, and a collaborative approach to treatment. Patients often appreciate his calm, empathic style, careful explanations, and relaxed but clinically rigorous approach. Treatment is individualized and may include medication, therapy referrals, sleep and lifestyle interventions, laboratory evaluation when appropriate, and coordination with other clinicians. This outpatient practice is not intended for emergencies, crisis care, forensic evaluations, disability evaluations, or one-time controlled-substance visits.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Dr. Pearlman’s style is calm, thoughtful, and direct. He aims to create a relaxed, respectful visit where patients can speak openly while also receiving careful diagnostic assessment and clear recommendations. His approach is collaborative and individualized, with psychiatric evaluation and medication decisions provided directly by Dr. Pearlman. He takes time to understand symptoms, prior treatment, medical factors, sleep, stressors, medications, and the patient’s goals before recommending a plan. Patients should know that medications are prescribed only when clinically appropriate after evaluation. Controlled substances, including stimulants, benzodiazepines, and hypnotics, are not in any way guaranteed.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first visit is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. Dr. Pearlman reviews the patient’s current concerns, psychiatric history, medication history, medical background, sleep, substance use, safety history, and relevant life context among other considerations. The goal is to clarify the diagnosis, identify contributing factors, and develop a practical treatment plan. Follow-up visits focus on response to treatment, medication effectiveness and tolerability, symptom tracking, functional progress, safety, and next-step decisions. When appropriate, visits may include brief psychotherapy-informed work, such as cognitive-behavioral strategies, supportive therapy, motivational interviewing, sleep-focused interventions, or skills for managing anxiety, mood, attention, and stress. This is an outpatient psychiatric practice. It is not designed for emergencies, crisis care, forensic or legal evaluations, disability evaluations, or one-time controlled-substance visits.
