Getting to know Dr. Danielle Sandbothe

Dr. Danielle Sandbothe found her way to Oklahoma from Missouri by way of Indiana. She grew up in Jefferson City, MO and had received her bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Science from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. Feeling called to serve others in a different field, she pursued medicine which led to her receiving her medical degree from Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. She then completed her psychiatry residency with Griffin Memorial Hospital in Norman, OK where she gained invaluable experience at the state psychiatric hospital and state funded outpatient clinic. As an osteopathic physician and psychiatrist, she embraces the osteopathic philosophy of treating not just the disease but the whole person, their mind, body, and spirit. In her spare time, she enjoys horse riding and has been taking lessons off and on since she was a child. When not riding, she enjoys reading, especially the novels and short stories of Philip K Dick who often explored the themes of what it means to be human. Her reading partner is a Basset Hound that also likes to take her for walks and smell tours of the neighborhood.

I had a truly uplifting session with a provider who was willing to squeeze me in on a Friday during a mental health crisis I was experiencing. Her kindness and empathy were healing to me during a difficult time.
The office is very pleasant in atmosphere, they are prompt and courteous even a little loose and humorous but not inappropriately. My doctor made me feel very seen and heard and I feel at ease with her. I have confidence in her as well. I was apprehensive going in, but left feeling reassured and better about the process.
She is great. Listens, and adds important questions to be answered. Very considerate and kind. She really knows her medical literature and is really updated on recent researches.
