My name is David Asante and I’m a dedicated and compassionate board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). My expertise covers a wide range of psychiatric conditions across the lifespan, including Depression, Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders, PTSD, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, other Mood Disorders, Eating and Personality Disorders, ADHD and many more.
My approach to patients care varies based on the individual needs. My aim is to understand every patient from their emotional state and develop customized plan that works for each patient. I give patients and their loved ones enough time to process what has been discussed and respond to their concerns with empathy.
I am children, adolescents and adults psychiatric nurse practitioner, hence I see patients Across Lifespan. I typically see patients from 4 years and above. I am very comfortable in treating patients with Depression, Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders, PTSD, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorders, Bipolar Disorders, other Mood Disorders, Eating and Personality Disorders, ADHD and many more.
I am very calm and soft-spoken. I speak to my patient slowly with a calm tone and explain things in great detail. I create the environment of making patients feel comfortable and relax. I listen to patients with an open mind and non-judgmental. My response to patients concerns are brief but concise. I am a great team-player and I try my best to get along with everyone in my environment. It has been my habit to put smiles in patients faces by the end of their session.
My journey in healthcare spans many years, initially beginning as a Registered Nurse where I developed a strong inclination towards mental health services. This passion led me to become a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, a role I have embraced wholeheartedly for more than five years.
