About Dr. David Blumfield
Dr. Blumfield is a board certified foot and ankle surgeon. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a Diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
He graduated with a B.S. in Biology at Wilkes University. He received his D.P.M. from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. His Residency was done here in Houston at the Harris County Podiatric Surgical Residency Program, where he was the Chief resident. He has been Chief of Podiatric Surgery at the Houston V.A., Del Oro Hospital and currently at Memorial Herman Memorial City Hospital.
His professional interest is in sports medicine, surgery of the foot and ankle including bunions and hammertoe deformities. He has a special interest in reconstructive and pediatric surgery of the foot and ankle.
He is currently on staff at Texas Children’s, Memorial City, Christus St. Catherine, First Street, West Houston and Methodist Willowbrook Hospitals’. He also works at First Street, and Oprex surgical centers.
He is on all the major insurance plans. These include: Aetna, United health care, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and Medicare.
He is the father of five children and one grandchild. In his spare time he enjoys taking the family to Disney World. He also enjoys playing golf, working out and going to Texans games. His real passion is baseball and the Yankees.
