He is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Liver Foundation, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, American Society of Transplantation, United Network for Organ Sharing, American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, and the European Association for the Study of the Liver. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Dr. Dies enjoys traveling, snow skiing, and listening to smooth jazz music.
