Getting to know Dr. David Kaiser
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, I will be providing sessions remotely through FaceTime, Skype, or Zoom until further notice.
I have been in practice for over 25 years, combining psychotherapy and medication management in my treatment approach. My goal is to help patients identify the sources of their problems and develop solutions tailored to their individual lives. In psychotherapy, I utilize psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, existential, interpersonal, and spiritual approaches. My specialty areas include mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, relationship problems, and spiritual or life crises. My working style is empathic yet direct and truthful, with an emphasis on solving problems in the present.
I earned my Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and completed my residency in Psychiatry at Northwestern University's McGaw Medical Center.

I’ve had many therapists over the course of 50 years and know myself pretty well, but I still need a therapist in my life who I trust. My former Dr retired recently, and it took me a couple of tries to find someone I felt comfortable with. Dr. Kaiser asked all the right questions and listened. It was good to feel seen again.

I visited Dr. Kaiser only to have my prescriptions refilled; I don't believe I will keep going to him because I felt that this appointment was a little odd. I was able to receive my refills, but I don't believe I will be seeing him again.

Dr. Kaiser is the best doctor I've ever had. From the first minute he was so kind and caring and made an experience that I was dreading and very anxious about, actually enjoyable and informative. Could not recommend him enough.

I like Dr. Kaiser and would highly recommend him. He is very knowledgeable and makes me feel like the root of the problem is finally being addressed (rather than the shooting in the dark, let’s keep trying different pills and see what happens that was happening with previous doctors.)
It was pretty apparent from the first session that he knows what he’s doing and means business, which are two qualities I really value when it comes to my mental health lol.
I also appreciate his accessibility, I am able to text him if I have a medication concern or need an appointment ASAP. And he is on time, reliable and efficient, which is reassuring.
I am happy I found Dr. Kaiser, and based on the influx of patients I see before and after my appointments, I believe other people feel similarly!

I saw Dr. Kaiser last year and have been seeing him since. He truly is an amazing psychiatrist with an wide breadth of knowledge and a true understanding of the human body/mind and how it relates to needs for medication. He continually checks in with me and is the best psychiatrist I have had (I have had many). He cares about his patients, he doesn't just write them a script and say get out.

Very knowledgeable and listens well. Took the time to listen and explore my issues and developed a plan to tackle them. Was able to fully explain what is going on in my brain at the neurotransmitter level in a way I could understand. Highly recommended!

I was very impressed by Dr. Kaiser, he was extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions. After seeing multiple past psychiatrists he was definitely the best I have had so far. I'm very optimistic with his treatment plan! Would highly recommend.

Omg I'm pretty sure I've found The One. He asks questions, shows genuine interest in treating my symptoms, and explains things to me.
He has a small private practice and does psychotherapy as well, so I feel like my needs are met and that I can trust he won't leave the practice like 3 of my previous doctors/therapists in the past year have done.
Relieved to have found him, and excited to continue!

Dr. Kaiser is an exceptional provider. His focus is not only on medication but the whole person. At the same time, it is clear that his perspective is that medication is useful and works with the client(me) on what works best for my unique biological environment.
