Our lead practitioner holds a Master’s in Traditional Oriental Medicine from the New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, bringing expert knowledge and experience to every treatment.
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practice involving thin, sterile needles inserted into specific body points to promote healing and balance. It is based on Qi (pronounced "chee"), the body's vital energy flowing through meridians. When Qi is blocked or unbalanced, it can cause pain or illness.
Acupuncture is often combined with other healing techniques to enhance therapeutic effects:
### 1. Electroacupuncture
Gentle electrical pulses applied to needles enhance stimulation.
Great for nerve pain, muscle recovery, and chronic conditions.
### 2. Cupping Therapy
Suction cups placed on the skin increase circulation and release muscle tension.
Helps with back pain, tight muscles, and respiratory issues.
### 3. Gua Sha
A scraping tool breaks up stagnation and improves circulation.
Relieves neck pain, migraines, and muscle stiffness.
### 4. Tui Na (Chinese Medical Massage)
A deep tissue massage targeting acupoints and meridians.
Excellent for musculoskeletal pain, stress relief, and mobility issues.
### 5. Herbal Medicine
Custom Chinese herbal formulas complement acupuncture to balance the body.

Good experience at the appointment, but after the appointment, the office told me that they don't take my insurance even though it is listed on their ZocDoc profile. This part of the experience felt unprofessional to me, as they should have checked beforehand. I would not have booked if I knew this information in advance.

I would prefer Zoc Doc to be more clear and transparent about the insurance coverage on the website. Was taken by surprise that the doctor was out of network even though I had asked for in network doctor. Not right .

It was my first time seeing David. He listened to my problems carefully and explained things that I wasn't familiar with. He's very knowledgeable and gentle of needles. I did not feel anything when he puts in the needles. I felt very comfortable and safe.

This was my first time experiencing acupuncture. Dr. Kim was great about explaining everything. He calmed me down about needles and I was very relaxed during my treatment.Just make sure your insurance covers acupuncture. I have out-of-network insurance so it was super easy for me.
