I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in mood disorders such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, and more. I completed my Master’s in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing at West Coast University. I provide both medication management and therapy. In addition to individual therapy, I also offer couples/relationship and family therapy. I am here to help navigate life’s challenges and support you in creating a motivating and empowering life.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I believe in being open minded to every situation I encounter. I come from a place of non-judgement where my patients' voices are heard and is a priority. Together we figure out weaknesses to strengthen and enhance what are current strengths are. Every patient's care plan is curated individually and carefully and is done so with the patient's approval.

Doctor, I want to know what happened? I went to the pharmacy and didn't have a prescription. I've already been taking my medication for two days, and you haven't given me any explanation. I'm sorry, but I think this shows a lack of responsibility on the part of a doctor towards their patient.

I waited an entire month for my scheduled appointment, only to be told at the actual appointment that she couldn’t see me because it was a conflict of interest since I already have a psychiatrist. The frustrating part is that I clearly stated on all the intake forms—submitted a month in advance—that I had a psychiatrist. If this was going to be an issue, I should have been informed immediately, not after waiting weeks for care.
This delay cost me time I could have used to find a provider who could work with me. The only positive thing is she didn't charge me.

I thoroughly enjoyed my session with Demetria, she was very attentive and understood where I was coming from. I’ve heard of horror stories when seeing a psychiatrist, but she was the complete opposite. She listened and gave me suggestions on ways I can manage my triggers. I would definitely recommend her!

She is very friendly and warm and makes the process of getting meds WAY less scary. In the past I was told “you have symptoms of ___ but not enough to get meds or a diagnosis, but here’s some Zoloft if that helps” but Dr. Demetria made me feel heard and talked me very clearly through the process and was able to give me a diagnosis.
