“Dr. Dena is the best therapist I have had especially because she is very humble and talks to you as an equal instead of an authority figure. She has a real knack for being able to relate to clients and speak to them in ways that are approachable. For example, Dr. Dena will use the colloquialisms I use to help me better understand the solutions and tools she suggests might help. This is a really big deal in terms of helping better relate to clients and feeling comfortable and truly understanding and appreciating the expertise she shares. I feel so grateful to have found her and can't express enough how much she has changed my life for the better.”

Getting to know Dr. Dena Galinato

I have extensive experience working with a diverse population, including individuals struggling with substance abuse, dual diagnoses, codependency, trauma, and other mental health issues. I earned my PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Capella University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide effective care. I consider myself an assertive and direct psychologist who prioritizes effective communication, healthy boundaries, and self-care. My ultimate goal is to help people gain the insight and coping skills necessary to live meaningful lives filled with a positive sense of self and healthy relationships. I am a culturally sensitive psychologist who treats each client as a unique individual. I am action-oriented and listen with empathy, helping clients gain insight into patterns of thoughts and behaviors that can be used to make healthy and meaningful changes in their lives. If you are motivated for positive change and self-growth, I encourage you to reach out to me. I would be honored to be part of your journey. I believe therapy is a collaborative approach, with the end goal always in your best interest.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process. When working with me, clients can expect to have their voice heard. During the first session, clients will share their reasons for seeking therapy while answering questions based on current and historical circumstances in order for me to get a good clinical understanding of the issue(s) that the client is presenting with. Ongoing sessions will entail the client processing and sharing anything that is weighing heavily on their minds in order work their way towards leading a healthy and meaningful lifestyle.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
