Getting to know Denise Crosson

Denise Crosson is a nurse practitioner board certified in family and psychiatric mental health. I work with children and adults to provide medication management and therapy to address all general psychiatric conditions including mood disorders, functional limitations, and thought disorders. My approach I most enjoy being able to assist people to achieve optimal mental health wellness and stability. I have a lifelong interest in better understanding people in order to better help them meet their own goals for themselves. When it comes to working with patients I am passionate about providing care to improve access to care My focus I work with children and adults and enjoy working with people to manage symptoms of all general psychiatric conditions. My communication style My communication style is respectful and direct. My journey to mental healthcare I am boarded in family, and was boarded in family prior to returning to school and becoming boarded in psychiatric mental health in 2015. I decided to do this as a result of my experience working with children and adults in primary care and internal medicine. Often when I felt the need for psychiatric consultation my patients had to wait months for that appointment. I found I wanted to be better at providing support and intervention to better serve my patients during the time they had to wait. I focused a lot of continuing medical education on improving my skills in this area and ultimately decided I wanted to return for a post-master's certificate for more education and clinical experience in this area. My goals for you I work hard to hear both spoken and underlying concerns that people want to be included in their own goals for themselves. To ensure my understanding I restate my understanding of those goals so that patients can correct or clarify my understanding.
