About Dr. Dong-Ying Yu-Michaelson (Judy)
Dr. Yu graduated as a Physician from the Traditional Chinese Medicine College of Liaoning University in Shenyang, China. After graduation, she served as a Supervising Physician at the Liaoning Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
She completed post-doctoral studies at the Liaoning International Training Center of Traditional Therapy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), where she was further certified in Acupuncture and Chinese Medical Massage. In 1994 she received the prestigious Certificate of Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease from the First Chinese Medical University, also in Shenyang.
She has experience working with a wide variety of health issues, concerns, complaints, diseases, and illnesses, from the simple to complex, as well as those of recent occurrence to those that are more longstanding. She has also worked with clients of all ages.
Dr. Yu has published many papers on the treatment of various diseases and conditions with the use of Acupuncture. Three noteworthy papers include “Fertility Treatment with Acupuncture and Herbs,”; “Treatment of Coronary Heart Disease,” and “Perspective on Acute Suppurative Infection Mechanisms.”
Dr. Yu is widely known in the community as a very caring, knowledgeable, sociable and professional healer.

Dr Yu is a phenomenal acupuncturist. She is so incredibly knowledgeable. Acupuncture with her always feels so much more effective than with anyone else I’ve worked with. I’ve been working with her for years and I trust her very highly. And for someone with 30+ years of experience, her rates are incredibly affordable. She’s a true gem in Decatur.
