Dr. Donna Kini-Bowen, DACM

Acupuncturist
237 Lookout Pl, Ste 203, Maitland, FL
Hi there! I'm Donna Kini-Bowen, Florida State Licensed Acupuncturist, and a nationally certified Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture). I graduated with honors from the Florida College of Integrative Medicine and received a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine and Bachelor of Science in Professional Health Studies. I received my Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. I have been in practice for over 18 years specializing in pain management, sports specific injury prevention and women’s health. Born and raised in Hawaii, I believe in the spirit of Aloha. The spirit of Aloha means the sending and receiving of positive energy in hopes to create positive feelings and thoughts that are passed on to others. With warmth and sincerity, I provide whole person health care to each patient, one patient at a time. Over the last 17 years, I had the privilege to practice in both private and hospital-based clinical settings. In 2013, I began my journey as the first licensed acupuncturist hired in the Florida Hospital system. I was responsible for setting up acupuncture services in Winter Park, Celebration and Orlando South. In addition to numerous lunch-n-learn presentations educating healthcare practitioners and the community about the benefits of acupuncture, I was able to collaborate with physicians to provide patient care for non-opioid, post-operative pain management, cancer support, tinnitus, neuropathy, stress and anxiety and endometriosis. From 2002 to 2012, I taught at a local university while attending acupuncture school. My initial project was to develop and implement the massage therapy curriculum and student clinic. A few years later I received the "Teacher of Year" award. I then transitioned into teaching anatomy and physiology to healthcare students which led to my promotion as the Allied Health Chair.
