About Dr. Edward Becker
Dr. Edward H. Becker is a Baltimore native who graduated Summa Cum Laude and first in his class with a degree in biological sciences from University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He continued his education at the University of Maryland School of Medicine where he received multiple awards for academics and was elected president of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. It was during medical school that Dr. Becker decided to pursue a career in Sports Medicine.
After medical school, Dr. Becker continued his training as a resident in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. During his residency he was active in orthopaedic research in subjects including basic science, spine surgery, trauma, and sports medicine. He has had multiple publications in the orthopaedic literature and has presented his research at various national and international orthopaedic meetings. During his final year of residency, Dr. Becker was selected by the faculty at University of Maryland to act as academic chief resident. He had the opportunity during his residency to work with many local high school and college teams including the University of Maryland Terrapins.
After completion of his residency, Dr. Edward Becker elected to further his training in Sports Medicine and was selected to do a fellowship at the world renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, California, under fellowship director Neal ElAttrache. During this time he received advanced training in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. He also had the opportunity to work with colleges and professional teams including the world champion Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Sparks, Anaheim Angels, Anaheim Ducks, and USCsports teams.
Dr. Becker is one of few surgeons who is subspecialty certified as a sports medicine expert. He specializes in procedures for both adult and pediatric populations.

I booked 2 different appointments at 2 different locations to see the same doctor and each time I only spoke to the physician assistant. Although she was very nice I wouldn’t recommend anyone seeing the Dr. It might end up being a waste of your time and the wait time is usually long

I am out of state for extended visit. Urgent care referred me to orthopedic surgeon for likely hip fracture. My insurance provider in MN approved but staff kept me waiting for 2 hrs. to get approval from BC/BS of FL. They refused to see me and I’m hoping the delay in medical care doesn’t result in long-term damage. VERY disappointing experience after getting insurance pre-approval and driving over 1 hour to get there.

Felt very rushed, did not see the doc was seen by one of his nurse practitioners don’t understand why because when I left out of the exam room, the doctor was standing there talking to the staff. It was Friday evening, and I believe everybody was ready to go home. They were all in a hurry.

After some reviews I wondered if I would have a long wait, but I did not. Less than 5 minutes in the waiting room and just a couple before I got x-rays and maybe 5 before I saw the PA.
I was very pleased with the staff and the PA. She recognized what the issue was and prescribed PT which I felt was perfect for my situation.
My only complaint was that if an office schedules me with Dr. Becker, I expect to see Dr. Becker. I have no problem seeing PAs. But I would have preferred the office tell me that my appt was with the PA upfront. Many offices will say, "Dr. Becker's next appt is in August, but his PA can see you next week" and will let me decide. I prefer that situation.
That being said. The PA was great and I was in and out in a flash feeling good about my treatment option.

Very Friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Received X-Rays immediately upon being brought into the back. Dr. Becker seemed very knowledgeable about my symptoms and went straight for the MRI for answers to my issues. I appreciate him not taking the long route.

I am highly disappointed I was booked for an appointment with Dr Becker on this however, Dr Becker is not at that location on Wednesdays. It should not be an option to book and the PA should be booked. The service I experienced was absolutely terrible if I could request a refund I would! The PA wasn’t helpful and I left feeling like why did I even come to this place!! Terrible manners I complained the office manager called back and I had to tell her how defensive she came off while I tried to explain my terrible experience. Her main focus was that she couldn’t refund. I said forget the refund it was an absolute nightmare of a patient experience. But, I guess that did not matter to her as long as they kept the money.

Very pleasant physician and staff. I arrived a few minutes early and was taken for x-rays almost immediately. He spent more time with me than other orthopedic doctors have. He performed the injection to my hand rather than having his PA do that. I will definitely plan on seeing him in the future should problems reoccurred.

The Dr and staff were great but the business practices leave a lot to be desired. After I got home I needed to call the office to ask to have a prescription called in since I was going to be out of town.
I called the number and obviously received Representative in a call center. She was rude and told me i could not speak to anyone in that office directly and that I would have to go on line to make my request. Since I did not have internet access I asked for
Her assistance. She said she would send them a message but could not guarantee me that they would get it. Not real comforting to say the least. Loved Dr Becker though. Took his time in explaining everything to me and was very thorough.
