About Dr. Eileen Bishop

After graduating Summa cum Laude from Dowling College in New York, Dr. Bishop went on to earn her M.D. from SUNY in 1990. She then completed her internship at NYU Medical Center/Bellevue Hospital in 1990 and her fellowship at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center/Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and St. Luke's Hospital Center in 1996. During her fellowship, Dr. Bishop was appointed Chief Cardiology Fellow. Dr. Bishop's teaching experience included a position at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons from 1993-1996. Board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases as well as nuclear cardiology, she is currently practicing in New York as a member of Suffolk Heart Group in Bay Shore and Smithtown with privileges at Southside Hospital of Bay Shore, Good Samaritan of West Islip, and St. Catherine of Siena of Smithtown, New York.

Wait time in the eating room was about 45 min, with another 30 min in the exam room. My daughter is 20 years old and on BP meds given by her primary. MD we saw stood by the door asking a preset of questions, spoke a mile a min, and had no bedside manner for a young girl with hypertension. Her visit with us was maybe 10 minutes tops.

Had an appt for 930am was told it was Dr Bishops first appt it wasn't finally saw her at 1040. Her bedside manner was terrible right to the point had to ask her about my ekg she didn't offer to tell me.. Found her to be rude would not recommend her

Upon arrival, the waiting room was completely packed, which made it difficult to socially distance. Though I didn't have much trouble signing in, the woman behind the desk was awfully terse and unprofessional with others, presenting with a condescending attitude. I didn't need to wait long. I was shuffled into an exam room and within minutes, the doctor was in. Then, within minutes, she was out. My whole exam was 5 minutes, if that. I didn't feel as though she took the time to listen to my concerns. I had read this in several reviews and should have listened. I spent more time at the check out desk, which was a process in an of itself. My entire time in the office from check in to out was less than 30 minutes, and the majority of that time was spent at the check out desk. Overall, my appointment was rushed and the staff was not the friendliest. I would not recommend this place to others.

This was my first visit to this practice so it remains to be seen how I will judge the level & value of service received over the period of my next several visits. Dr. Bishop though appears to be very professional with a strong clinical background. A thorough exam & consultation lasted approximately 15 minutes where upon completion Dr. Bishop requested consent to obtain my medical records from previous physician I sought treatment with, then proceeded to schedule a group of upcoming test.

I was disappointed at the lock of bedside manner. The person bringing me in the room didn't even greed me. She asked me a few questions and didn't even look at me while she was asking them. Considering this was my first visit, I expected a lot more questions to be asked to find out more about my history. I spent less than five minutes with the doctor.

Great visit. Came to office for surgical clearance and the office made sure to get my testing done right away. Dr. Bishop was friendly and understanding. Everything was taken care of before my procedure. I will return in the office in 6 months for a check up with Dr. Bishop.
