I graduated as an adult/geriatric nurse practitioner in 2014. I graduated as a psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner in 2022. I am equally passionate about the benefits of initiating psychotropic medications if warranted. I have an empathetic approach to the services I provide. I have a strong medical as well as mental health background. I provide a partnership approach with exploring different options with medications as well as non-drug interventions to help people achieve an understanding about the medicine and long term goals sought. Based on my experience, I have found that my approach and style are a good fit for Patients seeking and maintaining recovery, ADHD, and Mood disorders. I have high expectations on my work but I also expect a similar response with my patients. I encourage patients on their need to put in the work with interventions utilized in a non-drug way in addition to the support that may be seen with the medications options that will be explored. I enjoy it when patients and I can be open-minded and forthcoming with each other. I always enjoyed mental health during my RN career. It only expanded as an advanced practice nurse. Like most people, I was drawn to this line of work due to personal challenges I experienced with loved ones. I have always enjoyed challenges and am fascinated with the medications I recommend. Goal settings are developed during the initial encounter. They are not written in stone and can always be adjusted as visits progress.
