What should a new client know about working with you?

Welcome to High Desert Mental Health & Wellness, a telemental health practice located in Utah. Appointments are available T/W/Th 11:00 am – 3:00pm. Fees, copays, and/or out-of-pocket costs for services offered by this practice are generally determined by your health insurance plan, and are due at the time of service. We look forward to talking with you soon! Of Note: This Practice does not provide prescriptions for controlled substance medications. An email address and your date of birth (if you wish to schedule an appointment) is required in order to ensure a direct response from your MH provider.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Licensed in multiple states, this provider sees adult individuals from broadly varied personal and socioeconomic backgrounds, with a special focus on areas of concern to veterans, rural seniors and women of all ages. She values authenticity and chooses to ground your work together in a meaningful sense of connection. At this time this provider does not see children or adolescents except by direct, pre-arranged therapist or healthcare provider referral in order to ensure the availability of team collaboration for optimal treatment quality and continuity of care. For the evaluation of specific learning disabilities or other more complex neuropsychiatric conditions, including traumatic brain injury and dementia, you may be encouraged to pursue further diagnostic assessment with a clinical specialist peripheral to this mental health practice, with whom this provider will then closely collaborate to provide an appropriate initial/ongoing plan of care for you and/or your dependent family member. In addition to initial diagnostic assessment, treatment planning and follow up medication management appointments, this practice also offers short term, coaching-style appointments to support you in achieving your clearly identified goals. For longer term, more frequent or intensive therapy needs, you may be referred to a MH therapist of your choice within your insurance network, with whom this provider can then collaborate to address any ongoing medication management needs.

More information on payments and coverage

This provider currently accepts a majority of Utah-based health insurance plans and see patients through telehealth statewide. Prior to scheduling an appointment, please verify directly with your health insurance that the provider with whom you intend to schedule is listed as "in-network" with your specific plan. If you see a provider who is not in-network with your insurance plan, you will be expected to pay in full for the appointment at the time of service. You may then, when permitted by insurance payors, submit an invoice requesting direct/partial reimbursement for the amount your plan agrees to pay toward services rendered by out-of-network providers. When applicable, insurance-set copay amounts for in-network appointments are due at the time of service, and can be paid online through your High Desert Mental Health & Wellness Patient Portal. For your convenience, all standard forms of remote/online payment are accepted. Please inquire regarding insurance-related questions/concerns prior to scheduling appointments in order to avoid unexpected out of pocket costs. There will be a charge for appointments cancelled with a less than 24 hour notice.
