I like food, in fact I love it! Admittedly the grocery store is my 'Happy Place.' And what I learned at Bastyr University was how all kinds of food could be part of a healthy diet. I can geek out for hours on diet research and gourmet food, although I've found that eating to stay healthy is rather simple. What is hard is taking the steps to form new habits. While I've studied how to use botanicals, supplements, and therapeutic foods to heal the body, the most important skill is how to motivate and encourage my clients. I work hard to give my clients easy solutions in a complex world. In my career as a traveling dietitian, I've had the opportunity to design diets for some of the most diverse people: Hispanics on the border of Mexico, Firefighters in North Carolina, and the Amish in Pennsylvania. People need individual care as unique as they are, whether it's diets for working third shift to meeting over the internet. My goal is to help you envision the next step, motivate you to move in that direction, and build a plan that promotes future health and personal growth. I definitely think cooking for friends and whipping up herbal remedies is a hobby. When I'm not thinking about food, I use my free time to hike, dance and practice flow arts.
