Elizabeth Macshadiya, MSN, APRN, is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, with experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She is a graduate of San Jacinto College and earned her BSN from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Her many years of experience as a registered nurse in various medical and mental health facilities throughout the greater Houston area fueled her passion for caring for patients struggling to achieve mental wellness. This passion led Elizabeth to earn her master's degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Midwestern State University, enabling her to become a psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner and provide a higher level of care to her patients.
Ms. Macshadiya utilizes the biopsychosocial model when approaching patient care, believes in treating patients with unconditional positive regard, and encourages them to be active participants in their journey to wellness. She provides assessments, psychoeducation with empathetic listening, and includes patients in discussions and selection of available treatment options as much as possible. She focuses on treating the whole person, not just a diagnosis. Ms. Macshadiya treats a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to mood disorders, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and thought disorders.
In her spare time, Ms. Macshadiya enjoys spending quality time with her husband and four rapidly growing children, reading, listening to music (and singing along as best as she can), traveling, and giving back to her local community through volunteering. She is also a member of the Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurses of Houston and Houston Area Nurse Practitioners.
