Getting to know Dr. Eloy Franco
Dr. Eloy Franco is a physician certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology since 2012. In 2014, he also obtained Board Certification in Brain Injury Medicine.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at Ponce Health Sciences University School of Medicine in 2006, graduating with Honors and highest distinction from the Department of Psychiatry. He then moved to Ohio in 2006 to attend the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Psychiatry Residency Program, where he completed four years of psychiatry training.
His awards and recognitions include being selected as Chief Resident of his psychiatric program at the Cleveland Clinic in 2009-2010, receiving Fellow status from the American Psychiatric Association in 2014, membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, and the Kaleidoscope Magazine award in 2007. He also completed a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Puerto Rico, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2002.
For the last nine years, Dr. Franco has lived on the sunny beaches of Florida, where he has cared for thousands of patients of various ages, diverse backgrounds, and unique histories.

I enjoy caring for patients of all walks of life in a way that is warm, empathic, inquisitive and empowering! I am double boarded, holding certifications in General Adult Psychiatry and Brain Injury Medicine.

What is your typical process for working with clients?
You can expect to feel better and improve your quality of life after working both together in a holistic fashion. You can 100% expect a very thorough and comprehensive evaluation and follow up care.
I speak fluently English and Spanish. I am a native from the island of Puerto Rico. We are accepting NEW patients!

As a result of internet issues during our September appointment Dr. Franco was 2 hours late joining our telehealth. I had scheduled this appt around meetings and my children’s extra curricular actives, so when Dr. Franco joined the meeting, I was short on time. As opposed to saying that the time we had available was not enough, he proceeded with the visit. At the end of the 5 minutes, he requested that we meet again in the same month prior to filling my prescription. This meant another fee. When I let him know that an extra fee was more than I could budget for in the month, he agreed to meet on our regular 4 week schedule. However, in our Oct appt, Dr. Franco brought up my concern about an additional charge in the same month saying that medicine cannot take finances into consideration. When I attempted to remind him of the internet issues he was having he stood firm on his position it is about proper medical care not that his internet cutting our session short.

He was very rude to me. My appointment was at 11, and I woke up at 10:30, and he told me that I looked like I suffered from a stroke and that I looked and acted like I was recovering from it. You don't talk like that to your patient, I was offended, and I don't want him given me medical advice. Rude and bad psychiatrist

The provider rescheduled my appointment once already. Then the provider logged into our appointment a half hour late for a 45 minute appointment. Once the appointment finally began, the provider excused himself for five more minutes about two minutes into the session. Then, despite all that, the provider actually charges me a “no show” fee. Avoid.

I booked an appointment with him and received several confirmation emails then literally like 10 minutes before I get a message saying that he can’t take any patients until April. Should’ve been informed way before or the website shouldn’t have said that those time frames were available. Not sure whether it’s the Drs fault or the apps but either way I’m disappointed.

Had a lovely initial consultation. Dr. Franco was traveling but still did everything to uphold the appointment. First sessions are usually pretty awkward but Dr. Franco put me at ease while discussing topics that aren’t exactly easy to talk about. Has a very compassionate demeanor that encourages you to be honest and open. I look forward to my next appointment!
