“I was first greeted by the office staff who were not only friendly but very professional and hospitable. Shortly after completing the necessary documentation I was called back to the consultation / examination room, where I was then seen by Dr. Elvis Francois. Dr. Francois was absolutely wonderful. He asked me questions and was extremely attentive to what I was explaining to him. This visit was very casual and laid back. It almost seemed like I wasn’t at a doctor’s office. As a result, after reviewing my imaging results he clearly explained all the possible treatment options, which seemed extremely reasonable. I felt comfortable and in good hands with Dr. Francois! I highly recommend this practice for definitely being top tier across the board in attending to their patients with extreme care.”

About Dr. Elvis Francois
Dr. Elvis Francois is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and surgical management of complex spinal disorders. He completed his spine surgery fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, following his orthopedic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic. He holds a medical degree from Meharry Medical College and a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and Biology from Oberlin College.
Dr. Francois brings years of clinical expertise to Big Apple Spine, having previously served as a spine surgeon at Resurgens Orthopaedics and Tulsa Bone and Joint. His clinical interests include minimally invasive spine surgery, cervical and lumbar disc disease, spinal deformity, and motion-preserving techniques.
In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Francois has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in the field of spine surgery and musculoskeletal research. He has presented at national orthopedic meetings and remains active in academic research and mentorship, particularly focused on increasing diversity in medicine.

I have never written a public review in my life, but I truly believe people should be aware of my experience. After months of back-and-forth communication and calling multiple times a day, I finally decided to pull all of my records from Big Apple Spine due to the lack of responsiveness and support regarding my medical care.
While it may be easy to schedule an appointment, do not expect timely follow-up on results or referrals for additional services such as MRIs or physical therapy. Calls and messages consistently went unanswered, regardless of how much pain or urgency I expressed.
In my experience, this practice reflects many of the frustrations people have with the healthcare system today. I would strongly encourage others to consider seeking care elsewhere.

I can’t explain how comfortable and cared for I felt with Dr. Francois and the other doctors and staff. This was a pretty serious surgery and I had no fears.
The front desk staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The office is beautiful and modern. It’s located in the middle of almost every train.
This was something that had to be done and I wanted it done with no insecurities. Not glad I had to do it but glad it was done by them.
