About Emily Edelson

Emily is a Texas native and has always loved discovering new culture through food. During her undergraduate education at Tulane University, Emily majored in public health and became involved in Edible Schoolyard and the Tulane Goldring Teaching Kitchen at the Tulane Medical School in New Orleans, LA which solidified her passion in food. After becoming more involved with food systems, teaching, and the New Orleans community, Emily decided to pursue a Master's in Nutrition Interventions and Policy Change at Tufts University Friedman School where she was involved in public health-oriented research and worked with communities in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, MA. Emily relocated to the Bay Area in 2019 where she began her career in Eating Disorders working with individuals at the PHP and IOP levels of care, as well as seeing clients privately through her own private practice. Emily's education and own lived experience with an eating disorder has allowed her to build rapport and connect more deeply with clients. Emily is passionate about removing shame from the eating experience, practicing through a weight-inclusive lens, and increasing access to care. She is currently working on completing her Eating Disorders Certificate through the Lewis and Clark Graduate School and has completed other trainings in digestive disorders and eating disorders and the dietitians' role in body image recovery in eating disorders. Emily uses on self-talk reframing and body image distress strategies and techniques to help clients recover from their eating disorders. Outside of work, you can find her camping in her mini van, or bumming around the beach with her senior yorkie pup.
