About Dr. Erika Gehrie

Erika Gehrie, MD, is a cardiologist with expertise in non-interventional cardiology. She is board-certified in internal medicine, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and vascular imaging. Dr. Gehrie earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania and completed her residency in internal medicine at New York University. She then pursued a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Beth Israel Medical Center. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Amherst College. Growing up, she admired the role that physicians held in the community and aspired to these aspects of community service and leadership. Dr. Gehrie believes it is important to build a relationship with each patient and to understand their lifestyle and circumstances. “This background is immensely informative when developing a tailored program for cardiac health,” she says. Most important during a patient visit is forming a bond with the patient. Dr. Gehrie adds, “Doctors establish long histories with patients, and the underlying connection with each is the cornerstone for establishing continuity of care.” She enjoys achieving positive outcomes for patients, whether this means improved bloodwork, reduced co-morbidities, or detecting a life-threatening condition in time for intervention. Dr. Gehrie says, “In each case, I take great satisfaction in having made a meaningful difference in a patient’s health.” She is a seven-time published physician and has received The Peter Elsbach Award for Excellence in Research. Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Gehrie enjoys coaching her kids’ sports teams, outdoor activities including hiking and skiing, and planning adventure travel.

The office was clean and the wait time was very short. The nurse who brought me back for preliminary questions before my appt with Dr. Gehrie did not introduce herself to me or greet me. She scolded me for not seeing a doctor regularly. I explained upon arrival that I don't like doctors offices and she did nothing to quell my anxiety. I asked for clarification that my appointment was with a female doctor as I did not want to see a male provider, to which she replied, "well, the male doctors are very good". I never said they weren't...she should consider herself fortunate that she doesn't understand why someone wouldn't want to be seen by a man. My blood pressure was high when she measured it, but normal when Dr. Gehrie measured it later on, which says a lot. The nurse who took my blood, however, was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable and distracted during the bloodwork I was anxious about. Dr. Gehrie was personable and calm.
I had a nice experience with Dr. Gehrie and the staff. Dr. Gehrie is a great listener and is kind. The staff is friendly and my appointment was on time.

Patient and attentive service. This doctor actually listens and helps you build understanding before making rash, uninformed decisions. This Dr. Is highly recommended in my opinion

Verified patient
Very friendly staff. Dr. Gehrie was nice and she was easy to talk to. I felt very comfortable with her and she answered all the questions I had.
Verified patient
I definitely will go back!!
Verified patient
Dr. Gehrie was great. She was attentive and listened to all of my concerns with no judgment and was thorough in her assessment. My only qualms came with the lack of communication from the administration side and there were also unexplained waits. Also calling this office is dreadful. It took over an hour to reach someone who will atleast pick up the front office phone and frequent disconnections during the transfers after waiting so long to get through to someone.
Doctor and staff were extremely unclear about instructions and recommendations. Only spoke with the doctor for 5 minutes (with her back turned to me) and she dismissed me quickly. I felt very confused during the entire appointment. Also, no hand soap in the restrooms. Left feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed after an EKG test.
I had an appointment for 1:30 and wasn’t seen until 2:30. I fasted the entire day for the appointment and wasn’t told until 3pm that the doctor had to reschedule the blood work because they were seeing another patient. Extremely upset.
Staff was awesome from the front desk, the nurse to check out!!! Super friendly and nice! Dr. Gehrie was very sweet and listened to everything I had to say. Very excited I found this office!!!

Excellent! Highly recommended

The Dr is terrible, and she doesn't listen. She doesn't care about your concern at all. She is not good at her job. I got no explanation regarding my EKG, and at first, when I was worried about my result, she said, "MAYBE BECAUSE YOU ARE SKINNY", and when I pushed her to tell me the truth, she said it's not like you are dying or having a heart attack. Still, the EKG is abnormal, I brought all the tests to her, and she didn't even care about those. Anyways, she doesn't care about you, and she is the worst doctor ever, don't waste your time, but the staff is friendly.

I would definitely go back to this office the staff was very friendly and I hardly had any wait whatsoever. Everyone went above and beyond to make this a pleasant experience...
Verified patient
Doctor is not sensitive when it comes to people with people that struggle with weight and not really interested in finding a diagnosis if symptoms are somewhat controlled.
Great cardiologist covered all her baselines, stress test was actually a pretty awesome a experience. Everything is done at the facility. Otherwise she was straightforward, did not push any medications on me. Will be returning for a FUP.
