She did a great job of welcoming us into the practice, and she thoroughly explained each aspect of the visit. I really enjoyed that she could easily transition from speaking to my children to speaking directly with me without missing a beat. Dr. Erin’s nurse was amazing as well! About Dr. Erin Adonnino

Dr. Adonnino is a highly awarded physician recognized for her excellence in medical student teaching, performance assessment, and collaborative patient care. She was one of only seven nominees across the UVA Health System for the Exemplary Resident/Fellow Physician Award. Dr. Adonnino prides herself on providing expert care that is comprehensive and collaborative for the patients and families she serves. She has enjoyed caring for pediatric patients from birth through adolescence. Dr. Adonnino earned her Doctor of Medicine from UVA Health University Hospital and completed both her internship and residency in Pediatrics at the University of Virginia. She has completed several research and educational projects focused on neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent care. These projects emphasized incorporating the most current clinical guidelines into outpatient practice and improving medical education during residency. Additionally, she has delivered numerous educational talks on topics including healthcare costs, wellness, nephrology, emergency medicine, neonatal intensive care, developmental pediatrics, and more. Dr. Adonnino also provides additional services for pediatric patients, including Nexplanon placement and circumcisions.
