Getting to know Esther Mugomba-Bird
Esther Mugomba-Bird, (aka Essie) is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who began her career as a Registered Nurse after graduating with an associate degree in nursing from Edison State College, now known as Florida Southwestern State College. She earned her bachelor’s in nursing from Nova Southeastern University and then her master’s in nursing with a focus in Psychiatry from the University of Cincinnati.
Essie treats a variety of mental health illnesses to include the different forms of Depression, various anxiety disorders, PTSD, Binge eating disorders, Paranoid delusions, bipolar disorders, schizoaffective disorders as well as other forms of schizophrenia, substance Induced Mood disorders, OCD, to name a few. She also has a special interest in medication assisted addiction treatment.
Essie believes that our Mental Health plays a major role in every aspect of our lives. Her lifelong dream has always been to bring awareness to an area that has been stigmatized for so long in addition to being under-served. It is her belief that most mental health conditions can be controlled with proper care and treatment allowing those affected to go on and live healthier, happier lives.

“Essie” is a Godsend find! She is patient, understanding and as kind as your best friend! She listens intently without rushing and she accommodates your schedule requests when possible. She’s also very professional and knowledgable about medications. I highly recommend her services!
