My journey to mental healthcare My journey to becoming a mental healthcare provider began as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Within my practice, I provided treatment to multiple clients with both medical and mental health care disorders. The limited access of mental health providers for those clients was the main reason for continuing my education in becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. My goals for you Client goals are set with the participation of the client, their families, outside resources and myself. All goals are prioritized according to the client's needs. Each client will develop short term and long term goals. During each session, discussions relating to the progression of the stated goals will be addressed. My first session with you During the first session, the client is expected to receive an introduction of myself, an assessment of the client's symptoms, and treatment options.
