About Dr. Eva Hausnerova
Eva Hausnerova, MD, PhD, FACC is a summa cum laude graduate of the Medical School Charles University, in Prague, Czech Republic, one of the oldest and most distinguished universities in Europe.
Dr. Hausner is board certified in Cardiology, Echocardiography and Internal Medicine. She trained and later became a faculty member in the Academic Cardiology Center at School of Medicine, Charles University, Prague.
After her arrival to the United States 30 years ago she became a research assistant professor at Georgetown University Hospital. She was involved in Echocardiography research and teaching. As a principal investigator she received a research grant from the American Heart Association. She was the co-investigator for echo-contrast agent FDA Approval. Her research was published and appeared in scientific medical journals. She obtained her PhD Degree in the year 2000.
While a fully flagged European cardiologist, Dr. Hausner completed postgraduate training requirements in Internal Medicine and Cardiology in the USA.
Dr. Hausner enjoys teaching residents and fellows as a clinical/staff physician at Georgetown university Hospital. She was the Medical Director of Cardiovascular Rehabilitation at NIH Heart Center at Suburban Hospital.
Dr. Hausner's medical philosophy emphasizes prevention of heart disease and personalized patient care while also specializing in Cardiac Non-Invasive Imaging
Dr. Hausner is a Fellow of The American College of Cardiology and she is a member of the American Society of Echocardiography and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.

I don't think I have ever had a physical exam that thorough! Rd. Hausernova is very friendly and very thorough. She took her time to really get to know me and ordered all the necessary tests. She noticed problems before I even mentioned my complaints to her.
Highly recommend for all individuals interested in having a comprehensive exam with attention to detail, rather than rushing through it, following the guidelines.

Dr. Eva Hausnerova is a superb cardiologist who takes hand written notes. She has a PHD as well as her specialty degrees in cardiology from Europe and the USA. She listens and asks intelligent questions. She is empathetic and it is a pleasure to be a patient in her consulting rooms. She has medical students that assist and are polite and interested. It is like a teaching hospital atmosphere.
I consider myself fortunate to have found her.
Transferred from Oregon where I had a pacemaker put in last year for 3rd degree heart block. My pulse had fallen to 28.
I look forward to many years as a patient to establish the cause of my complete heart block. I completed blood withdrawals on the 7th floor. She is on the 15 th floor.
I can highly recommend her. I know of only 2 other specialists I have encountered that I can recommend. I do not know a single Primary care doctor I can recommend. I am 67 years old.

I visited Dr. Hausner once in 2022 and again today in 2025. I forgot why I haven’t been back for annuals until I visited again - she is overbearing, talked over me when I tried to describe my symptoms, and tried to belittle me like a child for drinking coffee and consuming alcohol in moderate amounts. She also shamed me for booking through Zocdoc - apparently she is very unhappy with being charged per client on the platform and told me that she falsely lists herself as an internist instead of a cardiologist because the charge is less.
She ordered bloodwork, an ultrasound, an echocardiogram, and a week-long heart monitor without listening to my concerns in full or asking my opinion and insisted that I do them all immediately, completely unconcerned with any scheduling that didn’t revolve around her. The only positive thing I have to say about her practice is that receptionist Peggy is a wonderful person and very kind, friendly, and understanding. I will not be visiting again.

Dr Hausner is very knowledgeable and experienced cardiologist who does not just look at your heart but tries to get as much as possible knowledge about you and your work and life style to try to determine the cause of the problems you are facing. She took the time to look into all kind of aspects of issues I am dealing with and to explain what is going on and what needs to be done to resolve it and/or improve it.

Dr. Hausner is obviously a top cardiologist but more, she has a real concern for her patients. She focused on me as if I was a special patient. She is also very thorough. By the time all the tests are done she will know everything about me, more than my primary. I have hated all the cardiologists I have had so far because they were all arrogant and condescending bordering on mean. She is not like that, though don't be fool, she is strong in her mannerism and handling the situation. For the first time in cardiology, I feel I am in good hands.

I will post below a bit of what I posted to the office after an appointment today where I literally left in tears.
Your aggressive and unprofessional approach triggered me.
Your utter lack of awareness regarding the nature of intergenerational trauma is quite shocking. Telling me that I shouldn't be depressed or anxious because at least I'm not in a cattle car to Auschwitz was cruel and disrespectful, both to the people who have experienced those things, and to me. When I verbally expressed that I found this hurtful and unproductive, you nevertheless persisted in violating my clearly stated boundary a few more times before the end of my visit.
Additionally, when I informed you that I had recently gained weight due to a battle with a lifelong eating disorder, you not only calculated my BMI (a widely debunked methodology) and informed that I was obese, but also asked why I was fat and anxious if my boyfriend is calm and in better shape.

Dr. H and Peggy at reception were excellent! She went deep into my history and seemed invested in treating me holistically. Only down side was probably due to a Zocdoc error because I had canceled the first appointment and was confirmed when I rebooked, but the rebooking never showed up in the office’s calendar.
