Dr. F Cal Robinson, PsyD

Psychologist
IL
I am a seasoned clinical, medical, and pain psychologist with over thirty years of experience. I earned my PsyD from the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology. Early in my career, I had a private practice in Indiana and later worked for various regional, state, and national organizations providing psychological and rehabilitative services for chronic health conditions. With such conditions, it is common to also struggle with depression, anxiety, or the impact of trauma. As a medical psychologist, I am trained in clinical psychopharmacology and able to provide clinical opinions regarding medication use. I am deeply committed to the belief that unhelpful thoughts can be changed to improve quality of life. I walk with my patients and clients as they find effective tools that build self-confidence and trust, foster more meaningful and gratifying interpersonal relationships, and support goal achievement. In the world of chronic pain, patients are often referred for psychological assessment or evaluation as candidates for spine surgery, implantable devices, or to address challenges with opioid use. Learning coping strategies is also essential when adjusting to chronic pain.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
