About Dr. Falguni Asrani
Dr. Falguni Asrani is a considerate and caring dermatologist based in New York City. She earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from D.Y. Patil University School of Medicine and completed her dermatology residency at B.Y.L. Nair Medical College and Hospital in India. After moving to New York, Dr. Asrani completed an internship in Pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, followed by a dermatology residency there. She then pursued a fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology at SUNY Downstate and a two-year fellowship at Mass General Hospital in Boston focused on laser research and clinical work. While at SUNY Downstate, she was honored as the Dermatology Chief Resident.
In addition to practicing general dermatology, Dr. Asrani specializes in Pediatric Dermatology and skin of color. She has extensive experience and training in dermatopathology, plastic surgery, diode laser treatments, and cosmetic procedures such as chemical peels, Botox injections, and microdermabrasion.
Dr. Asrani is a board-certified dermatologist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She has held various academic positions, including assistant medical officer, consultant, clinical instructor, and honorary visiting consultant. She received the ?Best Teacher Award? in dermatology at New York Methodist Hospital in 2016 and a ?Certificate of Excellence? at Woodhull Medical Hospital, Brooklyn, NY, in 2018.

Our 2.5 year old son gets a bit spooked going to the doctor, but even after a painful visit (skin tags removed) he was hugging Dr Asrani and promising to bring her ice cream to his follow up visit. She’s so warm, patient, knowledgeable and everything you’d look for in a pediatric dermatologist. I’m so glad I found her office!

Dr. Asrani was really friendly and very, very knowledgable. I trusted her immediately. And I particularly like that she takes a conservative approach, addressing one issue, seeing how it goes, and then addressing another. I didn't feel pressured or 'up sold' at all. The rest of my experience with the practice -- asking questions, confirming the appointment, being greeted at the start of the tele-appointment and any discussion of next steps at the end -- was excellent.

I filled out all the paperwork ahead of time. I received multiple appointment reminder text and emails that also have address instructions. I showed up and was called in immediately. The nurse practitioner was unbelievably kind, helpful, and thorough. I waited less than 5 min before the dr came in. The only reason I don’t give 5 stars is I felt rushed by Dr Asrani. She never asked “do you have any other questions.” She tried to leave a few times and I would say “I have another question.” After she left, the NP stayed and went through everything with me. I’ve never, ever had such an easy and well planned doctors visit.
