Welcome to Talkiatry.
My passion is caring for patients with Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Social Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and ADHD.
My philosophy is to provide a comprehensive approach utilizing medication, supportive therapy, and psychoeducation.
I strive to provide care in a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and nurturing environment, taking time to explore symptoms and actively listen to the patient-thus getting to know the person as a whole, their life stressors, and what they are striving to achieve.
My goal is to provide the support my patients need to achieve their optimal functioning. I believe a person's ability to heal and be their best begins with a trusting relationship with their healthcare provider.
I completed my medical degree, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, followed by Adult Psychiatry Residency Training at Creighton-Nebraska University. I have been practicing psychiatry for over 20 years in Nebraska and South Florida.

Because we accept insurance, we can reduce out-of-pocket expenses and still offer high-quality care. You may not have any cost related to your visit with us, depending upon your insurance plan. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.

Honestly, I've never had such a bad doctor. She was impatient, hostile, short-tempered and did not remember medications and discussions of previous sessions. She also talked over me constantly. During my final appointment, she wanted me to change medications but would not provide details because she was rushing. A very scary experience.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Faujia Sobhan MD as an intake session. She was welcoming to me as a new patient. Although she was courteous to me, I felt as if she continued to cut me off when I was trying to explain myself. They spoke more than I did and I felt as if they weren’t truly hearing what I had to say.
